How do you promote acne scar healing?
When I was twelve, my mother never taught me about skin care, so that not all the skin off children at school, I have my acne in this sense and I now have a deep mark on the front panel assembly. Now I’m on my mission to heal the skin and a good way. I have heard that honey is an excellent source for smoothing the skin and healing. I also heard of vitamin A in fish oil should help the skin. If anyone has any links to websites or advice and information on experience or from other sources, please let me not. Thank you.

Hi there! I understand your concerns about acne scars and trying to conceal them or heal them. The first thing you need to understand is that the majority of the time, scars (anywhere on the body), do not go away completely. You may be able to get them to fade a little, or smooth them a bit, but they will never completely go away without surgery. I know that is probably not what you wanted to hear, but it is the truth. This is why so many women, and a small amount of men, have tummy tucks and other cosmetic surgeries. You cannot get rid of stretch marks, so the only way to permanently have them disappear is to have it surgically fixed.
So, addressing your concern, my first question would be, do you continue to have acne and are you still picking? Typically scarring acne is from the cystic form of acne, which is the large hard nodules that form on faces. It is not wise to pick, mash, squeeze, or do anything else to aggravate these types because they have a sort of “root” that will just grow larger. Usually they only open in the end of their development, and when you “pop” them, they typically form large scars and pits in the skin. If you are still having this problem, please see a physician or skin care specialist of some kind to help you get on the proper skin care regimine.
To help conceal and smooth the scars you currently have, here’s some otions:
-Vitamin E capsules are great because their insides contain pure vitamin E, which is a natural skin healer. You can use a safety pin and open a small hole in one of the capsules. Then rub the liquid directly on the skin you’re concerned about. Do this once to twice a day for as long as you like.
-Cosmetic concealers are nice because they can “hide” the scars while we’re out and about in the public eye.
-I know several cosmetic companies carry “pore minimizers” which are great for pitting acne scars. They kind of remind me of spackling (sp?). You put them directly in the spot before applying any makeup and it smooths your skin out. They really do work. I know Clinique has a great one.
-Gentle scrubs/exfoliators are good for taking away dead skin and bringing new skin to the surface, which can help polish and smooth your skin. Do not use scrubs if you are actively broken out, as this will just spread bacteria.
Other than that, I don’t know what to tell you. Using age defying moisturizers are great too because they tend to have collagen boosters in them, which helps in smoothing and evening out skin. If you still are having concerns, there are surgical procedures that can be done to the skin to fix it, as well as microdermabrasion and other outpatient cosmetic procedures that help with facial scarring. Hope this was helpful…

I am in the exact same boat as you are. I have terrible acne scars that I have been battling for years, and its been tough.
I do several things for my scars but my favorite is defiantly Glycolic Acid Peels that I get at the dermatologist during my facials. I would highly recommend those. I also use Retin-A as well.
I love to make homemade honey, sugar, green tea, and apple cider vinegar masks. It doesn’t smell too good but at this point I am trying everything I can
I’ve heard some people say that the neosporin scar solution patches are AMAZING. I haven’t tried this yet but I might go buy some. Good Luck and if you find any good tips, let me know!

coconut oil fades my scars
when using coconut oil, be sure to use an exfoliant when you wash your face so it doesn’t clog your pores

Hey, I would suggest using Aveeno’s “positively radient” daily moisturizer on your skin. It “evens out skin tone and texture”. It actually worked great for me. Use it daily after you wash and exfoliate your face at least once a week to get rid of dead skin cells and allow new skin cells to replace them. This will clear up your skin. Also, remember your skin will heal itself with time even if you do nothing. Another great way to clear up your skin is by using this face mask weekly. It’s a homemade face mask, and it’s easy to make at home. It’s main ingredients are honey, Cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. All of these ingredients are great natural remedies for acne scarring. For more info on how to make it, check out this link:

Hope that helps!

I suggest you a Glycolic acid peel.Glycolic acid, is the smallest member of the a-hydroxy acid family. It is colorless and odorless, and is known for its high solubility in water. This chemical is found in sugarcane, unripe grapes, pineapple, and various melons. It is isolated and extracted for various skincare uses.
Since its penetration ability is so powerful, glycolic acid is often used in professional chemical peels.
I have very improved my acne scars with a 70% glycolic peel. You can read my experience here:http://www.acne-removal-scar.net/glycolic-acid-for-acne-scars.html
If your acne scars are very deep, consider a surgical procedure: go here for informations:http://www.acne-removal-scar.net/ways-to-remove-acne-scars.html
